Elder Tyler Ditto//Kobe Japan Mission 2020-2022: We are cool because of God

Roller coaster of a week. Full of meetings, driving, transfers, teaching, and lots of meeting new people.

But first off...I got transferred!

I am now serving in a YSA congregation (college-age kids) in downtown SLC. I will likely finish my mission here, which is pretty wild. I am living in a member's basement in Holladay and have two wonderful companions. Another trio!! Elder Canty and Elder Scott. Elder Canty is from Colorado and finishes his mission in six weeks. Elder Scott is from Arizona and finishes his mission in 12 weeks with me. We get along well and this last week has been a lot of fun!

Here are some highlights of this week:

- got to hike Ensign Peak with President Prier and the new missionaries

- watched the Restoration video in the temple square theater

- attended a few cool YSA activities and met some great people

Three of my previous comps went home! crazy. Elder Leon (trainer), Elder Wright (3 time companion), Elder Hernandez

- picked up some new missionaries and dropped off a number of missionaries returning home or going to their original assignments

-We got to meet a few really prepared people. There was one in specific that was saying he wanted to have the constant companionship of God. He wants his spirit with him all the time. Man, did Heavenly Father think ahead. He gave us exactly that. So we got to teach him about baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost.

-We also met a lady named Emma who said she wishes there was a record of Jesus talking and visiting the children of God in the ancient Americas. We then introduced The Book of Mormon and she was SO hyped. Sadly she was an older lady so we sent her off as a referral for some other missionaries.

Another quick thought I wanted to share was something someone said at church. He said; "We are all really cool people...because of God." I loved that thought. God loves us so much and wants us to learn about Him and become like Him. Learning about God helps us learn about ourselves and who we can become.
