Another week in the books...full of lots of love and tough experiences. Here are the top 3 "stories" of the week:
i love this book and so does Elder Wright
We met this guy Daniel on the side of the road and he ended up telling us that he was the same guy that was Daniel from the Bible story Daniel and The Lions Den.
Jet flying by
We met SO many Spanish people this week and have had lots of times to practice my Spanish so I really need to brush up on it again.
Bubble gun
While doing a lesson at an apartment complex, the SWAT pulled up and busted into a house♂️⚒
Elder Wright
Okay so on a little more serious note, this week I have learned a lot about the importance of love. Showing love for everyone and having a genuine concern for others. On my time on my mission so far, I have met so many different and diverse people, and have really seen the love that Heavenly Father has for his children. Everyone is so so different from each other and has different needs and things they are searching for. Being able to adjust my teaching and focus on each persons' individual needs has been another blessing I have seen from serving a mission.
Pretty nice sunset
Another awesome thing that has happened this week is something that is called a "miracle chat." This is a group chat for all the local missionaries and whenever we have a miracle-like experience, we send in a voice clip of the experience to get all the local missionaries hyped up. So as we have been going out and about the day, I have found myself really looking for possible miracles and how my Heavenly Father has been blessing me. So I challenge you guys to look for how God blesses you each day and notice the little miracles thought the day!
Fire scripture!!
Oh ya, also I got my 2nd covid shot! So now I'm fully vaccinated which is rad. Maybe now covid will be gone next week haha
- Alma 37:6 (The Book of Mormon). It is so important to be looking for the small and simple things in our lives. I love this scripture!
6 Now ye may suppose that this is afoolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by bsmall and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.
This season will be taking place in Murray (more like South Salt Lake) in the Granite Park Stake. I now cover two wards in that stake. My new companion's name is Elder Wright and he is from Utah haha.
Meeting Elder Wright my new companion
His family lives in Kanab Utah (which is basically Arizona), but he lived in Corde d'alene, ID for his high school time. He is pretty cool and likes music by Kanye, which is good.
The nice Sakura Blossoms at the Salt Lake Capital
Oh, also some people were asking about how my first round of vaccine went. I have had no post-vaccine symptoms or anything, so I hope that next week when I get my 2nd shot, it goes the same.
Saying "bye" to the Japanese members
Farewell dinner
I also got to say "bye" to some of the people in my other area before I left and that was awesome. I really miss everyone over there. When I said "bye" to one of the Japanese members and said I was leaving the Japanese ward, she even started to cry when I prayed. It made me sad and I love my broski's over there.

China Town on the strip
Okay, so my new area is a bit run down. I serve in like South Salt Lake but technically Murray area. Or at least that's the Zone that I am in. But anyways, in my area people just let there dogs poop everywhere and leave it. To quote Elder Hamner: "This is the kind of area where people let their dog poop on the sidewalk and leave it." This is so true here. I guess some dude got murdered here the other day too. Oh and our neighbors love to party. Pretty sickk
A watch that my man Dodi gave me. Everyone iced out!
My new Off-White shoes that a sick member gave me who makes music
Also when I was walking to an appointment this week in my new area I was just walking around thinking about what I was gonna have for dinner and then I looked up and saw the Sanchez's house (they are in the Da ichi ward)!! I was so stoked and then we went by later that night and said "hi." I loved saying hi to them and getting to speak some Japanese too.
The Granite Tabernacle that I used to serve in for the Da Ichi Ward.

Scripture of the Week:
- Helaman Chapter 5. Obviously verse 12 is really popular in this chapter, but honestly there are some other verses that are even better! Go give it another read if you can.
Song of the Week:
- A Moment Apart by ODESZA. This song is way fire. Shootout to all the ODESZA fans. Especially Elder Scow ้ท่。
Not gonna lie I am mega sad today... I just got news that I am bring transferred out of the Japanese area.Like noooooo. I love this area and Elder Peterson and me get along well so I'm mega mad sad. Oh well. I hope I get to go somewhere cool and with a good companion. Trusting in the big man upstairs. But here are some of the highlights of this last week:
Sushi timeeeee with Brother Abe
Wow I made that! You can call mr a sushi chef (shootout to Danette for teaching me all I know. I miss your sushi!)
Elder Peterson and myself with our sushi
- Made sushi with the Abe's and it was sooo good. And Elder Peterson hates fish and pretty much most Japanese food so I got to eat like all of his sushi so that was hype.
Elder Leon posting up
- It snowed this which was weird since it was 80 degrees just like 2 days before then๐คฏ
- I read this FIRE talk ("Three Sisters" by President Uchtdorf) and then met this lady later and shared the talk with her because it totally applied to her situation. It was random tho cuz that talk was from a women's session so like why would I listen?Heavenly Father helped me be ready at the right time and place!
- Met this AWESOME girl who is SO ready for The Gospel of Jesus Christ. She has so many good questions and really wants to learn. She said she felt "spiritually full" ๐ฅจafter one of our lessons.
- Bishop Uemura translated for all of the Sunday conference sessions. ️➡️️So if you listen to them in Japanese then you'll hear my favorite Japanese bishop. Oh and Elder Stevenson translates his own talks to Japanese for conference the last two years.
- Met a guy who makes big bass fishing boats and loves to fish. It made me sad I haven't fished in a long time.
Travis and his baptism!! Lookin fly
- Travis GOT BAPTIZED! So exciting and I got to baptize him which was great. I realized I never really talked about him in past emails but he is a really cool 13 yr old kid and really loves God.
- On Saturday we were supposed to have 2 baptisms, and GUESS WHAT... BOTH of them were CANCELLED the hour before the baptism. Now that was frustrating. But Travis's still happened on Sunday so that was good.
- I apparently had a nice conversation in my sleep with Elder Peterson about baptism and missionary work. Still on the sleep talking and walking grind
Quote of the Week:
"JESUS! JESUS! How have you been?" - Gas Station man talking to us
I LOVE this pic of Jesus called "For All Mankind" by Liz Lemon Swindle
Scripture of the Week:
- 3 Nephi 17:7,9 (The Book of Mormon)
7 Have ye any that are asick among you? Bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt, or maimed, or bleprous, or that are withered, or that are deaf, or that are afflicted in any manner? Bring them hither and I will chealthem, for I have compassion upon you; my bowels are filled with mercy.
9 And it came to pass that when he had thus spoken, all the multitude, with one accord, did go forth with their sick and their afflicted, and their lame, and with their ablind, and with their dumb, and with all them that were afflicted in any manner; and he did heal them every one as they were brought forth unto him.
This scripture talks about compassion and how Jesus Christ showed compassion to others. So my challenge to you is to show more compassion to the people you come in contact with this week.
Song of the Week:
- Goodbyes by Post Malone ft. Young Thug.... (Goodbye Japanese people who I love...)
- I Will Trust In You by Elenyi. You gotta put your trust in the Lord that he knows what's best for you.
